On 9th December, 1914, the 1st Honourable Artillery Company battalion of 8 Brigade, 3rd Division moved into the front line at Kemmel in Belgium with two companies in the trenches and the other two in reserve. According to the records of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, Alan Paull was killed on 12th December but the battalion diary recorded that he was killed on11th December while bringing up rations to the front line. |
